Stanford Researchers Identify Potential Weight Loss Molecule That Avoids Common Side Effects

·HealthyMag Editorial Team

A molecule recently identified by scientists at Stanford University may change how weight loss treatments work in the future. This tiny compound, known as BRP, can copy the strong appetite-reducing effects of drugs like Ozempic, but without causing many of the bothersome side effects. Researchers used artificial intelligence to find BRP, which is a small peptide. It seems to work directly on the part of the brain that controls hunger. In animal studies, this molecule helped subjects eat less and lose body fat, and it did not lead to nausea or loss of muscle mass.
